Contra Costa Kops basketball hoop For Kids was formed in 1995 to provide athletic, educational, and social programs for youth in Contra Costa County. Our aim is to help prevent drug abuse, gangs, violence, and juvenile delinquency. We are an all-volunteer organization made up mostly of active and retired law enforcement officers from federal, state, and local levels, who live and/or work in Contra Costa County.
Examples of our efforts to date include:
Capital donations to the Montalvin Manor Soccer field, the “Field of Dreams” baseball field at the Byron Boys Ranch, the Pleasant Hill Middle School swimming pool project, and the “Raise A Gym” project in Clayton.
Donation of 6 Southwest Airlines tickets to the Make-A-Wish foundation to send two children with Leukemia, and their families, to Disneyland.

Adoption of eight Special Olympics athletes from Contra Costa County.

Participating in the “You Never Win With Violence” program for 7th graders, staff, and parents.
Funding of grants for law enforcement officers to mentor at risk youth in our community.
Working with the Violence Prevention Coalition of Contra Costa County.
Serving as a member of the DELTA project to prevent violence against women.
First Annual Ride to Remember to be Held Oct. 17, 2015 at the Martinez Marina
District Attorney Mark Peterson invites you to participate in the first annual Ride
to Remember to be held Oct. 17, 2015 at the Martinez Marina.
The Ride to Remember is the first in Contra Costa County and is designed to
honor Police Officers and Firefighters who lost their lives in the line of duty in Contra

The Ride to Remember will feature 25- and 50-mile rides that start and end at the
Martinez Marina. Registration begins at 7:00 a.m. on Oct. 17 and the rides begin at
8:00 a.m. The cost for the 25-mile ride is $50.00, and the cost for the 50-mile ride is
$70.00.
All proceeds from the Oct. 17 Ride to Remember will go to the One Hundred
Club of Contra Costa County and Contra Costa Kops for Kids.
The One Hundred Club of Contra Costa County is organization that assists the
families of peace officers and firefighters who gave the ultimate sacrifice—their lives in
the line of duty.
